The 2017 Windsor Festival

The Prince Philip Trust Fund gave a grant of £5,000 towards the Festival to develop the opportunities they offer local young people and to widen engagement with all areas of the community.

Our support gave the Festival the chance to develop opportunities for participation, involvement and inspiration to young people and the local community, through their Community Stage. The Festival was also able to broaden its Schools’ Programme to foster emerging talent in Senior Schools within the Borough, encouraging pupils to see beyond the traditional school syllabus.

With our support, a Young Stewards Programme was developed to give young people the skills to inspire, develop and achieve their potential by providing them with new experiences, and giving them practical and transferable skills they can use in the future. The Festival also wanted to foster an awareness of Windsor’s local heritage and culture – from opportunities for the whole community to join in with the Festival Opening Event, to creating interactive Children’s Concerts, to increasing accessibility to venues – encouraging as many people from the local area to get involved in this unique arts event as possible.
