Supporting Local Families

At The Prince Philip Trust Fund helping families across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is very important to us. When families are supported, they are better able to weather the inevitable challenges of life. When families are supported, so too are the children in them, and stronger families also means that our wider community benefits as a result.

Over the years we have been able to support many different organisations who do amazing work directly with local families giving them practical and emotional support, guiding them through the ups and downs of life and helping to protect children and vulnerable adults. Here are just some of them:

Family Friends provide free and confidential emotional support and practical help to families who have children from birth to age 13 years and who reside in the Royal Borough. The Prince Philip Trust Fund have given over £10,000 in grants in five years to Family Friends to assist with a range of projects, helping them to provide and expand their services to local families facing difficult times.

The Baby Bank is a charity set up by two Windsor mums in 2015 and in that time has helped over 8,000 families from Windsor, Maidenhead, Slough and the wider Berkshire area who are in extreme need, providing them with good quality second hand clothes, furniture and equipment for children. Grants from The Prince Philip Trust Fund over this time have helped provide funding for items that cannot be donated, such as new cot mattresses for babies and infants, and other in demand, essential supplies such as nappies and educational packs for young children.

A grant from us to Relate Mid-Thames and Berkshire enabled this vital support service to extend its free and confidential counselling services to residents in Windsor by funding the cost of the rent for an additional room from which they can run extra sessions to support Windsor families going through mediation and divorce.

The Prince Philip Trust Fund has given a number of grants over the years to The Dash Charity to support their work to help local families and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. Their confidential helpline, outreach work and refuge has helped thousands of the most vulnerable members of our community to get help and to stay safe.

Many of these projects and charities often rely on grass-roots fundraising, donations and volunteers to keep doing the amazing work that they do and we are very proud to support their work with grant funds.
