Thames Hospice
Thames Hospice is a local charity that provides vital support and care for those with life-limiting illnesses. They provide services such as therapy, nursing and medical care as well as emotional support from their busy Hospice in Windsor and in patients homes.
Since 2011, The Prince Philip Trust Fund has given nearly £16,000 in a variety of grants to the Thames Hospice to support patients and families in the community at what is probably the most stressful time of their lives. A recent grant of £5,000 was awarded to go toward the funding of a mobile lifting chair and bereavement materials to help support those who have lost loved ones.
Debbie Raven, CEO of Thames Hospice spoke with great passion of the work of the Hospice at an Ascot fundraising Race Day in May 2018. She said “The Prince Philip Trust Fund has been a strong supporter of the Thames Hospice for many years and we highly value our close association. Their trustees recognise the value which the Hospice brings to our community.
“How we cope with grief is determined by how our loved ones spend their last days and in that respect the Hospice continues to play a very real part in this and is a major comfort to those who need care and compassion at what are incredibly difficult times for families and loved ones.”
